Austria Startup Visa within the framework of the Red-White-Red Card

New startup visa within the framework of the Red-White-Red Card (an immigration scheme which aims at facilitating the immigration of qualified foreign workers): the existing rules for self-employed key workers will be extended to startups.

Non-EEA citizens can apply for a Red-White-Red Card for self-employed key workers, if their self-employed occupation in Austria creates macroeconomic benefit going beyond its own operational benefit.

Austria has a flexible immigration scheme: the Red-White-Red Card. It aims to facilitate the immigration of qualified third-country workers and their families with a view to permanent settlement in Austria, based on personal and labour-market related criteria.

The Red-White-Red Card is issued for a period of twelve months and entitles the holder to fixed-term settlement and employment by a specified employer.
